There are multiple improvements in todays gaming industry, such as the improvements of software allowing higher frame rates, better graphics, textures, sprites and many more. Additionally, the invention of MMOPRG has revolutionised gaming, allowing any player to interact with another no matter where they are located. 50 years ago, gaming was only available on massive, heavy machines, now we can play on our portable consoles and mobile phones without any struggle.

People used to game on these!

The Gameboy was the first ever gaming handheld device, Nintendo is credited with popularizing the handheld console concept with the release of the Gameboy in 1989 and as of 2018 continues to dominate the handheld console market with the Nintendo Switch. The gameboy when first released would cost you $169.99, while the new Nintendo Switch would cost you around $300.

Recently, consoles are becoming more home entertainment products as they're including platforms such as Netflix, Now Tv, BBC I-player and many more. The reason for this is for the industries to make serious profit.
